IMPORTANT DATES

1. Entries must be delivered to the Depot Civic and Cultural Center, 600 Depot St., Brownwood, Texas, on
   Friday, January 24, 5 - 6:30 pm or Saturday, January 25, 9 am - 12 noon
   Entries will be juried for acceptance first and then judged for awards.  Accepted works must remain for the duration of the show.  
   Works NOT SELECTED must be picked up on Saturday, January 25, 4 - 5 pm

PHOTO SHOOT-OUT COMPETITION
Join the shoot-out while you await the results of the Juror selection at the Depot, Saturday, January 25, 2020
A digital photograph is to be completed within a 4 hour period of time.  Entries will be judged by an independent juror for the “Best Overall Image” prize
REGISTRATION SITE: Art Center, 215 Fisk Ave,  10:00 am – noon
Shoot-Out: Noon – 4:00 pm
ENTRY FEE: $20.00 (non-refundable)
ELIGIBILITY: Must be 18 years or older
AWARD: $250 Best Overall Image from Bostick’s Auto & Truck Sales.

Fifteenth ANNUAL PAINT -  OFF COMPETITION: The Stars of Texas will again host the well received Paint-Off Competition on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.  Two cash prizes of $500 and $250 will be awarded to the winners.  Work must be completed on site within 6 hours. 
REGISTRATION:  9:30 -10:30 am, Sat., February 15th.
ENTRY FEE:  $20 (non-refundable) Light lunch included.
ELIGIBILITY:  Open to all Texas residents 18 or older.
CASH PRIZES: 
$500 BIG COUNTRY FORD LINCOLN Paint-Off Best Overall Award
$250 BIG COUNTRY FORD LINCOLN Paint-Off Award of Excellence

All 2D media (except photography) is accepted.  Tasteful subject matter only.  Artists may work from life, plein air, personal photo, or value study. 
Participants are required to register and have their painting surface stamped before painting.  No unstamped surfaces will be considered.  Painting may begin on Saturday after artist is registered & surface is stamped.  The Paint-off will be held in the ballroom of the Depot.  Overflow area will be provided at the Art Center, 215 Fisk Avenue, Brownwood.  Outdoor plein air painters will have designated sites. 
Artists may offer their works for sale by silent auction.  Bidding will close before judging begins.  Artists may set opening bid.  A 25% fee will be collected on all paintings sold.  All stamped works must be entered for jury at the DEPOT BALLROOM by 3:30 PM.  Awards announced at 4 pm same day.  Work should be displayed unframed on an easel.  Artists must supply their easels and keep equipment compact.  Art may be picked up at 5:00PM.   No early setups please.

SALON DES REFUSÉ: The Salon des Refusés exhibit sponsored by the Brownwood Art Association will be held Feb. 2 - 15, 2020 at the Art Center, 215 Fisk Ave.  Immediately after judging, artists are invited to show and sell any artwork entered but not accepted into the 2019 Stars of Texas exhibit.  Details will be available on art delivery day at the Depot.

2020 ARTIST DEMONSTRATIONS: 
Selected artist will be demonstrating their techniques and styles throughout the exhibit each weekday, from 9 am to 3 pm.
